SAP User Group had organized an industrial visit to McKesson Delivery Centre, where officers got to witness the process of warehouse management and Inventory management in live-action. McKesson is based in Irving, Texas and distributes health care systems, medical supplies, and pharmaceutical products.

McKesson provides extensive network infrastructure for the health care industry; Also, it was an early adopter of technologies like bar-code scanning for distribution, pharmacy, robotics, and RFID. Officers were shown around the facility, where each employee equipped with RFID tags were working systematically from picking, packing and shipping the equipment.

They observed the functioning of robotics and how it had efficiently improved the lead time and decreased manual error during packing. Prof. Luell Thompson and Surya Nallamolu arranged this opportunity for SUG members
